WHO WE ARE
We are a non-profit organization - 501 (c) 3 - licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture to assist
with homeless and/or abused animals. Canine Adoption Network is a group of dedicated individual foster homes
that work to better the lives of companion animals. Our experience as animal rescuers and pet owners has given
us first hand knowledge of the desperate plight of companion animals in today's society. Our mission is to place
the animals that we are able to assist in the very best possible homes, no matter how long that may take.
We are a Group of Foster Homes in North Metro Atlanta, GA.
All our dogs live in our nuturing foster homes and are socialized with other animals.
They are not kept in kennels. All dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations,
microchipped and on heartworm prevention prior to adoption.
Dogs come from various places, rural and Metro Atlanta animal control facilities, strays,
the hurt, the injured, the hungry, the afraid and lonely, the mistreated, we take as many as
we can with the help of foster homes and donations.
The deepening foreclosure crisis also is having an effect. A growing number of pet owners
are abandoning their pets or surrendering them to shelters after losing their homes or being
forced into housing that doesn't allow animals. We've seen where people have abandoned dogs
in the house, we've seen dogs that have been surviving for weeks on toilet water, we've seen
dogs that have either been chained up outside or left in the yard when the people have left,
we've seen pets who are just set free.
Consider that out of every litter of 7 puppies, 5 of them will have 3 different homes by
the time they are 2 years old. Only 1 out of 7 will live in the same home for its entire life.
